Elizabeth Capan, J.D.
Chief Patent Officer
Elizabeth Capan joined Cloudbreak Pharma as the Chief Patent Officer in September 2022. She has over 10 years of experiences in global IP strategy development and execution, patent applications and prosecutions.
Ms. Capan helped companies recognise, nurture and protect innovations, and provided assistance in IP portfolio management and strategic planning. She supported business units in a wide variety of technology areas including pharmaceutical, chemistry, biotechnology and medical devices.
Previously, Ms. Capan served BASF as the Global IP counsel, and Fish & Richardson as a patent attorney. Before that, she was the Assistant Chief Patent Counsel at Dynamics, Inc. and IP counsel at 3M Corporation.
Ms. Capan received her Juris Doctor from the William Mitchell College of Law, holds a M.S. – All But Thesis in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. She also obtained her B.S. Microbiology and B.A. Environmental Studies & German from the University of Pittsburgh.
